The Path of Love
A luminous full moon and a heart guided by love, healing, and gratitude.
Happy full moon tomorrow in Sidereal Capricorn/Tropical Aquarius. However you interpret the sky it's still the same full moon in all her splendor, illuminating our paths. May the light of this high summer, sturgeon bright moon hold you in her embrace and light your way through these uncertain times. I pray that you all are healthy in your bodies and calm as can be in your nervous systems, that you're remembering to let love in as your heart breaks at the state of the world and the suffering of too many. I pray that you remember to practice joy and let yourself laugh, and to remember to honor your pain and let yourself grieve. And I pray that you lean into the earth and the plants for healing, the waters for cleansing and the winds to help you move gracefully through change.
I pray that you all embrace the power of prayer, make it a daily practice, know how to walk behind it, and trust its unfolding. And I pray for peace throughout this world and that all beings can be free and happy.
I want to share a poem I found recently that won't leave me alone. It's the question that it asks that I keep playing on repeat in my mind and heart and one that I hope will continue on throughout all my days~
The Question
by Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer
(for Jude Jordan Kalush, who asked me the question)
All day, I replay these words: Is this the path of love? I think of them as I rise, as I wake my children, as I wash dishes, as I drive too close behind the slow blue Subaru, Is this the path of love?
Think of these words as I stand in line at the grocery store, think of them as I sit on the couch with my daughter. Amazing how quickly six words become a compass, the new lens through which to see myself in the world. I notice what the question is not.
Not, "Is this right?" Not, "Is this wrong?" It just longs to know how the action of existence links us to the path of love. And is it this? Is it this? All day, I let myself be led by the question. All day I let myself not be too certain of the answer. Is it this?
Is this the path of love? I ask as I wait for the next word to come.
We hope you all have a beautiful start to the harvest season. Lammas started last weekend, it's the first of three harvest celebrations marking when we transition from growing to harvesting. The second is Mabon at the autumnal equinox and the final is Samhain at the end of October. Wishing you all an abundance of all this beautiful green earth has to offer for you and your families.
